Excellent food, well cooked and reasonably priced for the standard served. Not pretentious but good quality and 2 courses were more than sufficient to fill us up. Unlike some restaurants where you feel you are being ripped off, the starters here were substantial and filling in their own right. Prices on wine are also reasonable and service was good and friendly. We will definitely return when we are eating in town again.
we dined here Saturday night as the menu looked nice. what a disappointment. fish cakes were tasteless, covered in a watery sweet chilli sauce and had been fried in not hot enough oil as they were extremely greasy. my husband ordered the goulash and sent it back twice as the meat was unchewable!!! my chicken kiev was not much better and the jacket potato was nearly black when opened. the discoloured iceberg lettuce salad was the only accompaniment. do not waste you time it was terrible,
We ate here last night. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, in particular the carbonara. The staff were helpful and very friendly.
Next time we are in town we will definately eat here again. It was an absolute pleasyre
I'm not sure the kind of other places the above reviewers dine, but clearly they are either staff members or have very low standards of what is good food. I took my mother here for lunch as it appeared to be a classy looking establishment. As soon as my burger and chips arrived, which took 10 minutes, the alarm bells started ringing. The burger was sloppy, watery and certainly not 100% beef, and the chips were dry French fries that had less flavour than McDonalds own. My mothered ordered a jacket potato which was had clearly been precooked and reheated. The lettuce leaves were limp and not fresh. The service was substandard and we were not even asked if we enjoyed our meal....I have never written an online review before, but I'm so disgusted at the low quality and high prices that I had to warn others.
I cannot praise Pasaz enough. I eat here countless times as the food is affordable yet of the highest quality. I have just returned from a delicious meal - I had the trio of fish consisting of sea bass, red snapper and halibut, my partner hasn't stopped raving about the ostrich steak which was described as 'better than the best fillet steak', my notoriously difficult to please parents enjoyed duck breast with black cherries - the duck was pink and moist and the lamb shank was so tender, a knife was superfluous! The portions are generous but we still managed to force down a dessert from the wide range available washed down with a Bailey's latte and liqueur coffees recommended to us by the waiter who was attentive without being intrusive and made us feel very much at home. Nothing was too much trouble. This was a first time experience for my parents who have listened to me rave about Cafe Pasaz for years! They are going back for their lunch tomorrow. I'm sure the silver surfers will post a review.
This cafe bar is a little gem in an otherwise, foodwise, bland city centre. If you want to go to one of the numerous franchised restaurants, selling food prepared on a large scale then go and join the flocks of sheep. However, if you appreciate food, cooked individually and extremely tasty then try Pasaz. I've been there on four occasions now and have yet to be disappointed. The lasagne or panini with a glass of wine thrown in, for a very reasonable lunch time price, is highly recommended.
This is a lovely place to eat. Great service, a fantastic choice of food and a great atmosphere. It was also very reasonably priced and in a good central location. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I can't understand why anyone would want to eat in a boring chain restaurant rather then here where there is such great food and atmosphere. People of Hull get down here now!
This is a great venue for a private party or function. The staff were enthusiastic and friendly.
The owner sally was 'on hand' to offer professional advice from room arrangement, food to personal touches which made our evening very special and enjoyable.

Just returned from yet another fantastic meal at Pasaz - I must have tried everything on the menu now and cannot find fault with anything - the food is fresh and beautifully presented, the service is second to none with knowledgeable and very friendly staff. About time Hull had somewhere like this where you can enjoy a delicious cup of fresh coffee before work, a delicious lunch and relax after work with a glass of wine and a chat with the staff and owners. Expect to see a Pasaz on every High Street if there is any justice in the world!!!!
I go to Pasaz regularly with work colleagues, friends and family. The menu is excellent with plenty of variety. The food is very well prepared and the staff are friendly and efficient. The 10% discount for NHS staff is also very welcome. Returned from our Christmas lunch at Pasaz yesterday and it was SUPERB. If there is a better place to eat in Hull City centre then I would be very surprised - Ben G
This cafe is relaxed and the food is great. i would recommend Pasaz. The new owners are friendly yet professional. The food in pasaz is very well cooked and the variety of option is good. I will definatley be going back here
A great return-to-form for this atmospheric cafe-bar. As a regular customer in it's various guises over the past 4 years or so, I am so pleased that the current owners have really brought this place back to life. The coffee is the best around (and believe me I've tried most other offerings in Hull!) and the food is great too. The lunchtime atmosphere is relaxed and chilled with the staff being very friendly and helpful.
