A quaint little place hidden away! A lovely atmosphere and lovely food. We were not hurried in any way and spent a lovely evening with friends drinking and chatting. I would definately recommend this restaurant to anyone. The reviews were true to their word. Its great to have a good quality restaurant in town centre at last!

Just got in from this wonderful hidden gem, everything said about the place is true even the horrible pub next door! There was seven of us there for dinner ranging from 47 to 84 years old and everybody loved the place, even my mother who is registered blind and had problems getting upstairs but said i was well worth it, The starters were excellent, the main courses were brilliant and the desserts too die for, Its a catch 22 situation whether to shout about the place and not be able to get in or to keep it to yourself, well done Martin and co keep up the good work, the people of Hull should be proud that you serve them this excellent cuisine at such reasonable prices

Spent New Years Eve in this lovely restaurant, a good, charming atmosphere, food outstanding, I had a fillet of beef, which was cooked to perfection with well seasoned vegetables. The dessert was to die for chocolate tart with apricot compote and the compote was presented in an edible chocolate cup, highlight of the night, excellent wine selection with good service to boot. Not an unreasonable bill for the quality of food and service. We shall certainly visit again and would recommend it to others to. A secret gem!

Delicious food at this unique restaurant. The outside might put you off, as its the oldest inhabited building in Hull you might think the place is shut and crumbling down, but once you go upstairs to the dining room its lovely and cosy. I had lobster thermidor, it was very nice. They were accommodating to our 8 year old daughter and the wine was good. We went over Xmas break and it was a set 2 course meal for £27, 3 course £32, they charged half price for our daughter - all seemed reasonable for the wonderful experience.

Fantastic Food from a perfectly simple Menu. Excellent Service. Inexpensive Wine. Run by a wonderful Chef and his beautiful Girlfriend. Hull should be proud of this place.

Where did this place come from? finally a fantastic restaurant in the town centre.Staff attentive and hospitable, decor like it says on the tin, and remarkable food also, thought I'd died and gone to Hestons,

Chef and owner Martin, friendly and approachable to talk about his food also a wicked antipodean humour. If your in Hull and need good food, good wine, and good company you'd be hard pressed to find better.

The food here is amazing - from the tapas brought to your table immediately after sitting down to the amazing main courses and wicked deserts! The decor is homely and intimate and the waitress was friendly, polite and had an excellent sense of humour. We also thought it was excellent value for money for the quality of the food.No doubt atall that me and my husband will return here, FANTASTIC!!!
